Direct Donation Drive to Kick Off October 13th

Last spring the PTA voted to take a brand new approach to fundraising based on the results of the survey. So, this year we will not ask you or your child to sell anything (no wrapping paper, cookie dough, etc). Instead, this year we will ask you to make a tax-deductible contribution. One hundred percent of your money will benefit Fern Bluff Elementary. We will also be able to take advantage of corporate matching programs.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 and to have 100% participation. When we reach our goal of $25,000 (and we are confident we will), we will celebrate two ways. We believe in rewarding the effort as a whole which is why we have chosen to have a frozen fruit juice treat party courtesy of Blue Bell Ice Cream during the school day. Then on November 20th, we will treat our students and families to our first ever Family Bobcat Bop (family dance). So get ready to boogie and celebrate our success.

FAQs

1. Can grandma or a friend of our family donate to Fern Bluff PTA?
Yes, anyone can donate. They just need to fill out the form in this brochure and send in their payment to FBE PTA. All donations to this campaign are tax-deductible.

2. How much is an appropriate donation amount per family?
Every family should determine what amount is appropriate for their own situation. The PTA suggests $100 per family based on the amount we invest per student.

3. What happens if we do not reach our goal?
We are confident that we will succeed. However, should we not reach our goal then we will have to cut our budget which results in less money for the school.

4. Why should I donate, I already pay taxes?
Fern Bluff Elementary prides itself on maintaining academic excellence. Each school receives an expense budget based on enrollment. This covers the basics. But if we want our kids to compete on a national level with other kids, the reality is that the PTA must step in to fund the educational programs and staff development that allows them to do so.
